It isn’t for everyone, but those who are prepared to go off on their own are greeted with a stress-free holiday and amazing experiences.

In the city, you’ll appreciate witnessing all of Portland’s oddities, such as its iconic underground donut culture. Biking is very prevalent in Portland, and you can join in the excitement by joining a bicycle ride that highlights the city’s thriving art and poetry scene.

New York City

New York City

You might not consider New York City while planning a solo trip; however, the city of bright lights is a terrific spot to visit on your own. It’s easy to locate a table for one in eateries, the range of museums means you’ll find something that appeals and the parks are gorgeous and secure. Having said that, you shouldn’t go through them alone and at night.

In terms of the night, as long as you stick on one of the great avenues (hello, Broadway and Fifth), your walk will be well illuminated and joined by so many other nomads and locals that you won’t feel alone, even at 3 a.m in the morning.

Boulder, Colorado

If you’re going to Boulder, you’ll need hiking boots. In the winter, skiers and snowboarders dominate the city, and when the weather is nice, travelers rush to Eldorado Canyon State Park, Flagstaff Summit, and other popular visits such as Chautauqua Park and the Flatirons.

Also, while in town, go shopping at Pearl Street Mall and learn how well the local drink of choice is prepared by exploring Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory, the manufacturers of Sleepytime tea.
