Interesting facts about Alcudia!
Alcudia is one of the most unique towns off the Northern coast of Majorca. Surrounded by a medieval wall, built sometime in the 13th century, this beach town is a favourite of travelling families searching for relaxation and excitement. It first became a tourist destination in the 1970s as Puerto de Alcudia developed golf courses, parks, and beaches that attracted visitors from all over Europe.
The year-round summer spot has something going on every day. Sunday and Tuesday, a famous market takes over the streets of old town Alcudia, perfect for finding unique gifts and keepsakes to take home with you. After shopping, head to one of the many quiet coves and sandy beaches that stretch as far as C'an Picafort.
If you're coming in town for one of Alcudia's many festivals, whether it's Alcudia Jazz Festival or the Ironman Triathlon, consider staying at Bellevue, a large resort featuring eight swimming pools and 17 apartment blocks.
Spend at least one day taking in the history of this incredible town, from the Roman amphitheatre to the church of Saint Jaume, built in 1882. Or charter a boat for the day and take off from Playa del Puerto de Alcudia to relax amongst the waves. Made our holiday
Initially I was worried about landing with my family and the car not turning up, then the flight was delayed by over an hour and that added more worry. Whilst i was still waiting to board I received a text message from the taxi company saying that the flight was delayed and they were tracking it. When I landed I received a text message with the driver contact details, his arrival time and his photo!! When we came through he was standing there with our name on a smart looking tablet! He was great, he ran us around during our stay a few times and we had him again when it was time to leave. Michelle
